Email Client Templates

Imagem
While creating an Email Client Template, one common task is to use an image within the email signature. When we use the icon Insert/edit image as below, it is possible to upload the image directly there. In this case the image will be stored wihin the sys_attachment table. A record inserted in the sys_attachment table is not captured by default in your Update Set and since you intend to move your template from development to higher instances, it is important to promote your image as well. Talking about reusing images I got a tip from MVP Marcos Kassak regarding the db_image table and in the video below I’ll show you how to use this table. When we insert an image within the db_image table, this operation is automatically captured in your Update Set so it can be a better approach while creating your email templates. Thank you.

ServiceNow Certifications

With new features being released twice a year, staying up to date with ServiceNow's innovative capabilities is a challenge. I would say if you are a ServiceNow professional in the pursuit of your CSA, don't try to master all the modules because it is almost impossible. I have the following certifications: ✅ CSA ✅  CAD ✅  CIS-CSM ✅  CIS-GRC This means that when a new version is released I need to take four exams to keep these certifications valid. The lesson here is that the more certifications you have, the more you will need to study to keep them valid. Good advice is to look for certifications related to the experience you've had on previous projects. Practical experience will give you more confidence to take an exam and pass. And when you fail, and it will happen sooner or later, take a few days to recover and continue with your studies diligently. If you're a developer looking to progress into a technical consultant or architect role, the common path is to pursue yo...

Tech Lead

Using hard skills, it was possible to implement: ➡️ Configuration of groups for 164 Agents distributed among the countries: United Kingdom, Belgium, Netherlands, France, Luxembourg, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Italy and Germany. ➡️ Level 2 Support for Incidents related to components: - Case Type, - CSM Configurable Workspace. ➡️ Implementation of several improvement requests using Scrum methodology. ➡️ As we used specific Agent roles it was not necessary to use Fulfiller licenses, generating cost savings for the client. Although I had the opportunity to put into practice all the hours I invested in the laboratories to achieve my CSM certification, I believe the success achieved is also due to soft skills: ➡️ Constant knowledge transfer sessions with my team. ➡️ With our KT sessions, technical skills has advanced to the point where other team members achieved the CIS-CSM certification. ➡️ One day there was an ice breaker exercise before a retrospective where I shared that I have a bird wit...

It is been an exciting adventure working as a ServiceNow professional for the past four years.  I was studying about Cloud Computing long ago and when the chance to work with the platform emerged in 2020, I grabbed it with both hands. My previous experience as a software developer was good and bad at the same time. I'll try to explain what happened about my coding skills when applied to the development process. 2021 -  The 1st year : At first I started coding everything. Record Producer logic & validation was in Client Scripts and all back-end logic in Script Includes. After many NowLearning courses and navigating the community I understood how to use UI Policies to do things (Mandatory, Read-Only, Show/Hide fields) instead of putting everything on Client Scripts. Besides that my understanding of Business Rules reached a decent level. 2022 -  The 2nd year : I invested time learning about ITIL and it was a game changer.  Before every deployment to the test instanc...

Retrospective 2024

2024 showed that the ServiceNow community grows stronger when we learn and build together. From custom application development to complex implementations, this year proved that our greatest achievements come through collaboration: • Recognized as ServiceNow MVP 2024 • Transitioned to Technical Consultant role  • Delivered expertise in Customer Service Management implementations • Created educational content reaching thousands in the ServiceNow  community • Hacktoberfest contributor & maintainer Two posts that resonated most with our community: "Creating Custom Applications from Scratch" Breaking down complex development into accessible learning " Do you believe that creating a custom application from scratch using ServiceNow is difficult? " "The Hacktoberfest experience" Much of modern tech infrastructure relies on open-source projects built and maintained by passionate people who often don’t have the staff or budgets to do much more than keep the proj...
